First of all, why dont you make your own mind up about how you rate the the Hotel Pennsylvania.

I%26#39;ve stayed there many times over the years (20+) and found it to be convenient, clean and reasonably priced.

As for restaurants, if you go out the front door of the HP and take a right onto the first side street, you%26#39;ll find several Irish pubs, catering to the working class, nothing fancy, offering good food, drink and great ambiance.

So, let us know how YOU liked the Hotel Pennsylvania, thanks.

On W33rd between 6th and 5th, just around the corner from you is Jack Dempseys. An OK pub with canny food and if it%26#39;s available, they have a VIP pass which gets you up the ESB free of charge and at top speed...all for the price of a meal. It%26#39;s not expensive either

If you want to take a little walk go to 9th Ave %26amp; 38th St to Heroboys/Manganaroes. They have the BEST italian sandwiches, mozarella sticks %26amp; other italian food. It%26#39;s reasonalbilly prices as it%26#39;s more of a take-out style then sit-down. But they do have tables if you choose to stay %26amp; eat there.

Boy do I miss working in mid-town, becuase I could go for that right about now. ;o)

Korea town is nearby at 32nd and 6th Avenue. Some cheap eateries there. There are also all sorts of fast food places around there as well. Take a walk over to Ninth Avenue - there are more interesting small restaurants there that are very cheap and good.
