Where to stay???

Hi, I%26#39;m coming to NY for the first time and I%26#39;m SOO excited!

I can%26#39;t afford to stay somewhere expensive, I%26#39;m a single woman with not a lot of dough. But I do need to stay somewhere safe, I%26#39;ll have some of my work stuff with me (teaching a class) and I don%26#39;t want to risk it getting stolen. I don%26#39;t mind staying out of the city to save some money and take a train or bus in for an hour or so, but I don%26#39;t want to reserve a room and find out that its miles away from a convenient subway/bus route.

I%26#39;m trying to keep it around or under $100 a nite. If anyone has any suggestions I%26#39;d love to hear them! Thanks :)

Where to stay???

Second Home on Second Avenue has a couple of single-rooms at about $100 a night.

Location-wise, it%26#39;s not so far from Union Square, which would be great.

It gets good reviews on this site.

Take a look at the YMCAs, they%26#39;re clean and cheap.
