Cheyenne Diner

I%26#39;ve been a reader on this forum for the last year and have only seen this mentioned a couple of times but keep seeing the tropicana advert(UK) on tv and after looking at the menu on menupages am intrigued, has anyone been and would you recomend?

Cheyenne Diner

I work nearby and have eaten lunch there many times. I would agree with the reviews on menupages - food can be hit or miss depending on what you order. I%26#39;d say it%26#39;s more about the atmosphere than the food. It%26#39;s great to look at though, especially if you appreciate classic 40%26#39;s vintage diners. It%26#39;s also in a not very interesting neighborhood but if you go, you might want to cross the street and visit B%26amp;H Photo (only open until 6 i believe and closes early fri. afternoon and all day sat.) - it%26#39;s a unique nyc shopping experience. If you want to have a vintage diner experience, I would suggest going to Cheyenne (33rd and 9th ave) sit at the bar and have a soda - then walk south to the Empire Diner on 22 and 10th Ave - another vintage (deco) diner = quite popular hangout (and btw, not that it matters but I%26#39;ve often seen film stars dining there) and much better food. Nice sidewalk dining in the warm weather months too. Be careful if you are walking at night though - it%26#39;s pretty desolate at night on both 9th and 10th between 33rd and 22nd. enjoy your trip.
