Hello all,
I am looking to visit both the MoMA and the MET whilst in New York. I am particularly interested in pieces my Dali, Lichtenstein, Van Gogh and pieces like it. Have looked on each of there websites and it doesnt tell me which floors or areas to go to to see these pieces. I dont want to be wandering around for hours trying to find what I%26#39;m looking for, I%26#39;d love to have a massive wander round but dont really have a lot of time. Any suggestions, which floors areas?

Actually, the Met Museum website has a feature that allows you to select certain works and add them to ';my met'; to make a tour for yourself. You just have to register (for free) in order to do it.

They also do a ';highlights'; of their modern art collection which might interest you.
MOMA is relatively smaller. I suggest you start at the top floor and work your way down.

If you go to the MOMA, the top floor is the one you want for Dali, Van Gogh, ect....
While you%26#39;re wandering midtown, stop by the Equitable Building on 7th Ave. at 51st St. to see the enormous Lichtenstein in the lobby.

Thanks for all the tips guys! Looking forward to my trip a lot!
The Lila Acheson Wallace wing of the MET has some pop art pieces such as Roy Lichtenstein%26#39;s ';Stepping Out'; (1978)
I enjoy this piece becaus it seems borrowed from the traditional masterpieces of history yet it resembles a comic book. I appreciate the use of bright, primary color.
In their European paintings collections are some of my favorite Van Goghs. His ';Shoes'; (1894) have been the inspiration for a hs art class project for many of us, his self-portrait with a straw hat stares back at me with a solemn expression that gives me a glimpse into his nature. I love the sky in his Cypresses (1889)
I guess you can tell that I like to visit the met
Not really.
