candela restaurant

how far is the candela resaurant from the affinnia manhattan, and what dress code is needed, are denims allowed?

candela restaurant

Yes, jeans/denim is allowed.

It is about 1.5 miles away from the hotel.

I would walk to 6th Ave. and 34th St./Herald Square and take the N,R,Q or W trains downtown to 14th Street/Union Square. Stay in the back of the train. Exit at 16th St. Walk east through Union Square Park and continue on E. 16th St until you get to Irving Place and the restaurant.

Don%26#39;t forget to let us know if you liked it!

candela restaurant

thanks a lot , this sounds just the place iv%26#39;e been looking for, are there any other places near for a drink?

Yes.

Use www.newyork.citysearch.com to find things nearby your destination.

Put ';Candela'; in the search box. Click on the listing result.

Scroll down and look for the bar on the lefthand side that says ';search for nearby....';

Two ideas:

On the west side of Union Square at 16th is ';Coffee Shop'; - very trendy.

On 14th St around 1st Av (?) is Beauty Bar (bar with cosmetician theme)

Nearby bars:

Galaxy Global Eatery (Irving @ 15th Street): more of a restaurant than a bar but nice for a drink. Good food too. Trippy kind of diner-like place with all Brooklyn brews on tap.

Pete%26#39;s Tavern (Irving @ 17th - or around there): Manhattan%26#39;s oldest bar. Decent beer of their own.

Shades of Green (15th between Irving and 3rd): quiet nice Irish bar. One time while drinking there, one of the tables included most of the cast of Ocean%26#39;s 11 (Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Julia Roberts).

Bar 119 (15th between Irving and Union Sq. East): Union Squares sole hipster bar - besides nearby Beauty Bar. Dirty, seedy but tons of fun. Decent pool table. Watch out for bugs in your drink. If you%26#39;re easily offended you might want to leave early as they often put pornography on the TVs and patrons tend to smoke wacky tobacky in the bar.

Belmont Lounge (15th between Irving and Union Sq. East): Bar 119%26#39;s upscale cousin. Trendy, crowded place with the occasional DJ. Outdoor patio in the back. Probably a good singles scene.

There are a bunch of other pretty neat neighborhoods in the area. Irving Place is my favorite street in Manhattan.

Last sentence...neighborhoods = bars.

Woops!

what time do the bars start to close?

4:00 in the morning

are most resaurants the same about jeans, casual dress?
