First time trip to New York City for three young at heart...

Arriving to NYC Oct. 9 2005 . We have tickets to see Chicago and dinner at Tavern on the Green... What else should we three girls do while in New York.. Want to do and see as much as we can in 4 days... We are staying at the Park Central Hotel..... All suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Restaurants, shopping, sights... We are thinking about taking a double decker tour???????

I loved the view from the Empire State building. :)

The first thing we did is get on the double decker bus. You can get a hop on hop off pass and you can go off and explore certain areas...or you can just sit and listen to your guide.

I hope you love New York like we did!

Most folks (myself included) would tell you to skip Tavern on the Green. The food is not worth it, although the atmosphere is very nice.

Why not eat at the Boat House instead, if you%26#39;d like to eat in the park? Similar prices, better food.

Could you be more specific about your budget, interests (hate or love museums?) shopping preferences (Gucci or Macy%26#39;s?), any mobility concerns? Many subway stations (and more all the time) have elevators, and all buses can ';kneel';, but stairs are a major part of everyday life here.

You%26#39;ll have a great time!

I reccomend u to see as much as u can. u will love it overthere! Try to see Statue of Liberty, take ferry from battery park. for drink absolutly Rainbow room at nbc studio at rockefeller center. this is when i fall in love with nyc! georgeus view to to city, little pricey, but good enough for 1drink to enjoy atmosphere!

Circle Line cruise or similar is a must for first-timers, if you ask me. Gotta see Manhattan from the water, like in the movies !

Have a great time.

The best views from the double deckers are upstairs in the open. If any of you can%26#39;t climb stairs or if the weather is too chilly, you might consider the NY Party Shuttle bus instead. It%26#39;s a smaller bus, all enclosed. It%26#39;s a 6 hr tour starting at noon every day and instead of hopping on and off, they wait for you. Obvious pros and cons (your time isn%26#39;t your own but you don%26#39;t have to wait around for a bus either).

You absolutley have to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Take a cab, subway, water taxi or whatever over to Brooklyn. Stop into Grimaldis for some pizza and then take your time walking back to Manhattan.

If you like jazz, Dizzy%26#39;s Coca Cola at the new Time Warner building has jazz and nice views. It%26#39;s not far from your hotel. There%26#39;s a Whole Foods market inside that Time Warner building that would be good for some breakfasts or take away. Le Pain Quotidienne is a French cafe good for breakfast, lunch %26amp; dinner (7th ve %26amp; 58 st ) also near your hotel. Angelo%26#39;s pizza on west 57 st has good coal oven pizza. Go have a drink at the lobby bar of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on the 35 floor of the Time Warner building. Have fun!!

I couldn%26#39;t agree with Queensblvd more. The Boathouse is a much better experience than Tavern on The Green. Be sure to make reservations if you switch plans 212-517-2233. The food at Tavern is so-so and the prices are out of the world. The boathouse is charming, has lovely views of the park and the lake. Then after lunch/dinner you could walk over to the conservatory water and watch people sail mini sailboats in the pond and from there head over to The Frick.

Naked Boys Singing!

Go to Brooklyn and walk the bridge back to Manhattan a MUST hing to do, free and a classic
