we are planning to get from boston to Niagara falls.
we are planning to have a ride through south of vermont and have a night in Syracuse or the area around so that on the next morning we can drive to buffalo, and have the whole day in Niagara.
the first day of driving is planned like this:
depart Boston at 9:00 am
stop at bennington VT
stop at Saratoga Springs
stop at Syracuse for a night (or in a town nearby to Syracuse).
The next day:
depart Syracuse at 9:00
arrive at buffalo at around 11:30
a whole day for the Niagara. staying overnight in the Niagara area.
Does it sound a reasonable plan of our trip to the niagara? are there any recommended stops on both ways or any suggestion on how to make the drive full of beautiful landscapes?
thanks :)
Syracuse
Take scenic Route 20 instead of the NYS Thruway. Stay overnight at Cazenovia or Skaneateles (both historic lake villages). The Thruway may be faster for the last leg of your trip, especially if you want to make Buffalo before noon!
You can get to the Weedsport entrance to the Thruway by going north from Skaneateles to Jordan and west to Weedsport.
