Suggestions for Dinner & Bikes ???

Going to NY in a week and wanted to do these things below while I was there. Do you have any suggestions on what is good and what is not ?

Bike riding tour of City or Central Pk ?

An eating tour of NY, where you spend the day eating at various locations while also sightseeing ?

Dining at a restaurant with live Jazz or Big Band music ?

A boat / ferry tour of NY from the water ?

Thanks, UP2NY

Suggestions for Dinner %26amp; Bikes ???

1. Biking - I love biking around NYC. My favorites are up the Hudson River Greenway, the Brooklyn Bridge and Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn. But, I don%26#39;t know about riding tours, per se.

Check out the websites for Transportation Alternatives or the Five Boro Bike Club for recommended routes, FAQ, maps, etc. Contact/email them and ask for advice. The 5BBC might even have a ride scheduled.

You can get free bike maps at the bicycle stores mentioned on the Tras Alt website.

2. Yes, there are eating tours.

Here is a previous post about the topic. (search this forum for ';eating tours'; or ';gourmet tours';)

3. Big band - search this post for previous posts about Birdland, Swing 46, BB King%26#39;s etc.

4. The boat that goes around Manhattan and has guided tour is the Circle Line. The Staten Island Ferry is the free commuter ferry that gives you great views of the Statue of Liberty, etc. Water Taxi is mostly unguided, and provides short trips between different piers. Everyone loves the ferries.

Have not done the bike tour but others who%26#39;ve posted trip reports have liked it. Go to centralparknyc.org for info.

Don%26#39;t know about an all day eating tour but there are several half day or so options. Big Onion Tours does one that%26#39;s popular but I%26#39;ve also seen listings from other cos. People have generally been very happy with these tours and I%26#39;ve read they feel they got to taste more different foods, something they couldn%26#39;t have done on their own.

For dining and live music, here%26#39;s a previous thread with good info

For jazz Dizzy%26#39;s Coca Cola in the Time Warner building has views and jazz and food (I%26#39;m not sure how good.)

Joe%26#39;s Pub at the Public theater in Noho has good food and live music, usually jazz.

Knickerbockers Bar and Grill in the village is a casual, neighborhood place for good steaks and very good jazz.

Everyone loves the Circle Line tours. There%26#39;s several options (I%26#39;d do the shorter one or the Harbor Lights). If you want to combine your last 2 items, Bateaux NY does a fancy dinner cruise with live music that people seem to like.
