Yes, I would deem it inappropriate for a young teen (presuming you mean 13 or 14).....s*xual content, languauge, double entrendres which they might not get.

I love this show, but I think there are better choices for a young teen, IMHO.

My 21 y/o daughter and I loved the show.

It is inappropriate for young teens. Why? There is explicit puppet s*x, the language is the kind you%26#39;d rather youngsters not hear, songs include themes such as *it s*cks to be me*, *everyone%26#39;s a little bit racist* and *if you were gay, it would be ok* *The internet is for porn* and *you can be as loud as you want when you%26#39;re making love*

The play features many themes are better understood by adults.

Don%26#39;t force your kids to grow up too fast. Broadway has lots to offer younger audiences: Wicked, Little Women, Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia is also NOT appropriate for young teens. The story line is: a woman has unprotected s*x with 3 different men in one month and gets pregnant, has a daughter, and doesn%26#39;t know which man is the father. Years later, the daughter decides to get married, and invites all 3 men to the wedding to figure out who Dad is. Sorry, but not the values we should be teaching our young teens.

Young teens is an awkward age for Broadway shows.

They%26#39;re between the Beauty and Beast crowd and the Rent crowd.

It%26#39;s also hard to recommend without knowing what the parent is comfortable with.

And, if these young teens are boys, they%26#39;ll be bored at a Broadway show anyway.

Of the current running show, Lion King, Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, Phantom of the Opera, All Shook Up.

ouch! I forgot the play had a ';story line';. It seemed to me that it was really a bunch of ABA songs loosly strung together.

In my mind Avenue Q is not the perfect shows for teens under 14. But Maama Mia in my mind is o.k for the whole family, anyway it鈥檚 really up to you. I think that Mamma Mia could be about NAMBLA and nobody would even notice. People just want to hear the cheesy Abba songs, don%26#39;t they?

When my wife and I went to Avenue Q, we sat next to an older couple who only went because it won the Tony. Let%26#39;s just say they were shocked. After intermission, we never saw them again.

If you take your kids to Avenue Q expect to have to answer LOTS of questions after it. In fact, I still have questions after I saw it.
