Trian from JFK

Hi there. we arrive on the 4th of October. we were wondering how easy is it to get the train from jfk instead of taxi. Is there a train from jfk to manhattan. does it go direct or do you need to change trains?

Trian from JFK

The A train runs from JFK to Manhattan. It is very easy - depending on your final destination, you might have to change trains, but you can consult a NYC subway map at : http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/maps/submap.htm

You have to take the AirTrain in the airport to one of two connecting points. Then you change for either a subway (the A train at one point, Howard Beach, or the E, J or Z train at the other, Sutphin Blvd.) OR the Long Island Railroad (at the same connecting point as the E train) which takes you to Penn Station, 34 st %26amp; 7th ave. Where you%26#39;re staying and how much luggage you have will determine which train connection, if any would be best. The A train is really best if you%26#39;re staying downtown. The E train is better if you%26#39;re staying midtown, but neither are terrific with a lot of luggage (there are stairs). The Long Island Railroad is the fastest and most comfortable but only goes to Penn Station. If you%26#39;re staying near there it makes sense. There are also shuttle buses that don%26#39;t require changing that go to main drop off points around town. Here are all the options.
