Getting to the Statue of Liberty

Hi there

My wife will have about 4hrs usable time in Newark Airport in October. Can anyone tell us can we go to at least see the SoL and back within this time and what is the quickest way to travel

Thanks

That%26#39;s not all that much time but if you really want to see the statue, I%26#39;d suggest you take a cab ride to Jersey City State Park which is very close to the statue, right off the Holland Tunnel extension of the Jersey Turnpike. However, it%26#39;s mostly looking at the back of the statue. You can see Ellis Island very well too. It%26#39;s only about a 15-20 minute cab ride and would be fairly cheap. Maybe $20. That%26#39;s your best bet. Going all the way to Battery Park in Manhatan and going to the island is pretty much impossible with that amount of time. It%26#39;s an all day thing with the lines.

I really don鈥檛 think you have time for this. Even if you managed to get a taxi from the Airport to the Ferry Launch in NJ and you already had your tickets and everything timed out perfectly (very unlikely) what would you do with your bags? I don鈥檛 think they have lockers at Newark and I鈥檓 pretty sure you can鈥檛 even bring a backpack to the SOL.
