We will be seeing just these 2 attractions and I noticed they are not near each other. Will we end up paying parking twice if we drive to each? Or is their a shuttle or trolley that takes you to each? and if so what is the cost?
Parking cost Cave of Winds and Maid of Mist?

On the Cdn board, there%26#39;s a useful post. Bibsie says that parking was $10

I%26#39;ve only viewed the US Maid of the Mist and Cave from the Cdn side, they look quite close to me. You%26#39;d only park once.
Parking cost Cave of Winds and Maid of Mist?
it depends where you park, you can park at the rainbow centre ramp for 10 USD or right at the visitors center for an even more outrageous price. overall, it really doesnt matter where you park, most prices are the same and everythign is in walking distance.
the maid of the mist loads at the observation tower and the cave of the winds is at the cliff end of goat island. its probably is a mile walk at most but doesnt seem far because your walking through the scenic state park. you can probably find a map somewhere online to show you where these places are, it really is hard to describe is writing.
Thank you Danny for that great information. On the map it was hard to tell if they were in walking distance of each other. Ill look for the $10.00 parking lot you mentioned and walk from there.
im not sure the name of the street the rainbow centre parking garage is on but you wont miss it...its right in the middle of city traffic. its located right next to the wintergarden and right accross the street from flight of angels hot air balloon (just follow the lines down to the ground). it really is a convenient and clean place, the price is the only problem but i suppose if you only visit once a year its ok to spend that on parking for 2 hours.
There is also parking right on Goat Island. I don%26#39;t remember how much-I think $7.00. From there is was a short walk to the cave of the winds. If you buy the passport to the Falls-it includes Maid of the Mist, cave of the winds, -a few other attractions and the use of the trolley all day. It is well worth the price.
Thank you buffalo girl for the great information I appreciate it.
If you are near the 3 sisters island you can actually pay for free and it is a nice walk to the falls!!! we did that the night we wanted to see the lights, if we knew about it we would have used it the morning too for the tours. Make sure you get there early!! :)
You can also buy a package from the parks dept. either when you get there or on line. You get Maid of the mist, Behind the falls, The whiet water rapids walk and a day pass for the people mover bus. Oh yes and admission to the Butterfly conservatory, and the incline. My bet would for you to park at the Imax Movie, its like 15 for the day. Walk to theincline take it to the journey behind the falls and either walk...it is not a mile or take the people mover. we had 3 kids with us 11,9,5 and they loved the butterflies..they put up a fight about going but loved it in the end.
Hi there
I am a tour guide for over the falls tours. Our american tour includes both of those attractions and we pay for parking and attraction fees with the price of your tour and you also get picked up right at your hotel.
If you go by car on your own remember that once you pay to park once at any state park in New York, keep your receipt for the day and you can park in the other lots for free.
Hope this helps
Dayna
