Me and my girlfriend will be in NYC in february next year. We will be there for 4 days. We want to see as much as we can, but we realise we cannot do everything in that time. Any tips would be appreciated on what attractions stood out and what didnt. plus are there any new york italian style restaurants that are a must???

In 4 days on Manhattan you both can see quite a bit. I would suggest the Penn Station area as central point. From there within walking distance are numerous attractions not to mention Times Square. Little Italy is also a short subway ride for some great Italian food and atmosphere.
Buy the MTA pass for unlimited subway and bus in the region. Pick out some real comfy walking shoes as this is the best way to see New York you will be amazed at every turn.
I would recommend a sunset cruise on the Hudson River.
