I am looking for a good hotel convenient to Manhattan for about $100/night. We will not have a car, so we need something convenient to public transportation. I am looking at the Ramada Limited Jersey City, which is near the PATH train, but I am wondering if there is something that is also a little more convenient to Laguardia airport, which is where we will arrive.

If you don%26#39;t need a private bath, there may be options IN Manhattan. The YMCA Westside and possibly the Vanderbilt both have private rooms for 2 for under $100 I think. Those may even have private bathroom.
La Guardia is IN Queens so any place there would be closer than New Jersey.
If there are just 2 of you, you might try bidding on Priceline. If it%26#39;s a short trip, I%26#39;ve seen people ';win'; the Hilton NY or Times Square for $110-120/night at times.
Forgot to mention, if you don%26#39;t mind staying in someone%26#39;s apartment with them (usually with your own bath) people have reported good experiences with the ';hosted'; accomodation through

Second home on second is a b and b on the lower eastside in Manhattan that also might work. Jacksbandb.com is another on the upper westside.
