A friend and I had dinner last night in Soho - then walked through the Village - two comments...
1. The Cubana Cafe on Thompson Street (between Spring and Pribce) still offers some of the best authentic Cuban fare in the city - the Cuban sandwich is delicious and the mojitos are wonderful. Very inexpensive, great diverse crowd, warm, friendly service.
2. Walking west on W. 3rd to the ';F'; train at 6th - we were constantly harrased by street touts pushing everything those touristy bars and restaurants have to offer on us - when did that irritant start? It reminded me of Little Italy. Too bad - that%26#39;s a blight on such a lovely section of town.
