Hotels near Empire State Building

Hi, I%26#39;m planning to visit NY with my wife in early Nov. for 3 night, and considering a hotel in mid-Manhattan around 32nd st.

Two hotels in my mind; Holiday inn Martinique and the Avalon.

Holiday inn costs over $300 and Avalon around $200. Holiday inn seems to be more convenient for its location. Need some advice!!!

I%26#39;d recommend you to stay at Avalon. Both hotels are located in K. Town(korea town), on 32nd st. ';K. town';, the name comes from having lots of Korean eateries on the street.

Both hotels are located a block away from each other. Since you are visiting from Seoul, you might find the location convenient to eat out korean food, but it%26#39;s not the nicest neighborhood, busy and noisy. However, the block Avalon is on is a little less noisy than where Holiday inn is.

Also, I now live in nyc, but have stayed at Avalon four years ago when I came to visit nyc from another state. I did not get to see the other rooms but our junior suite was quite nice and spacious for nyc standard. So you might ask the hotel to upgrade your room to junior suite and stay at Avalon if affordable.

we stayed here www.comfortinnmanhattan.com just around the corner from esb - found it very good and well priced with a free continental breakfast.
